What is the difference between a certificate naming someone as additional insured and proof of insurance?
-
Naming someone as Additional Insured, adds coverage for them under the policy, providing liability protection in the event of a covered claim. Adding someone to your policy will cost an additional premium. You will also need to provide an explanation of insurable interest. In other words, why do they need to be listed as additional insured? For example, is the cert holder the property owner where you are going to be teaching lessons at? Or are you leasing the certificate holders property to run your business out of?

Proof of Insurance, will provide a certificate proving you have insurance but does not provide the certificate holder with any coverage.
If you are not sure which you need to provide, feel free to email or call us.
Can Corinthian Insurance Agency give me legal advice regarding my policy?
Equine Insurance is very different from your home, auto, and health insurance policies. If you have a claim during the year, it does not result in surcharges. Instead, you will likely end up with an exclusion on your policy. Likewise, if your horse has a previously existing condition, it is likely to show up on your Equine Mortality policy as an exclusion.
